The Dominican Community extends its heartfelt condolences to the Benedictine Community of the Cloistered Nuns of Birgu following the passing of their Reverend Mother Abbess, Sr Maria Tiralongo OSB.
Reverend Mother Maria dedicated her life to God through the Benedictine vocation, faithfully serving her community with humility, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to prayer. Her life of contemplation and service has left a profound mark on the Benedictine monastery and on all those who had the privilege of encountering her.
In this time of mourning, the Dominican friars unite in prayer with the Benedictine sisters, asking the Lord to welcome Reverend Mother Maria into His eternal peace and to grant strength, comfort, and hope to her religious family as they grieve the loss of their beloved abbess.
May her lifelong witness to the Gospel and her fidelity to the monastic life continue to inspire future generations of consecrated men and women.
"May the angels lead her into paradise; may the martyrs receive her at her coming and lead her into the holy city, the new and eternal Jerusalem. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen."
